Music Meets Memory
Together with our friends at Potion Design, we crafted an engaging, immersive digital experience for the Louis Armstrong House Museum, creatively bridging music history with cutting-edge interaction.

Unlocking a Legend- The Archives of Louis Armstrong
Nestled in Queens, NY, the Louis Armstrong House Museum preserves the legacy of the legendary jazz musician—"Satchmo"—and houses an extensive library and archives filled with photographs, recordings, interviews, and rare media documenting his monumental career and profound influence on American music and culture.
We conceptualized and designed an interactive experience to transform this wealth of content into a highly engaging and personally resonant journey for visitors.

Beyond the Groove - Unearthing Armstrong's Legacy on a Touchscreen Turntable
At the heart of the experience is a striking 6-foot circular touch table, inspired by vintage vinyl records and a retro LP player. The interface hosts thousands of categorized media files, structured around key chapters of Louis Armstrong’s life—each station offering a rich mix of music, playlists, videos, interviews, and images.

DESIGN MOTION & INSPIRATION
The mechanical rhythms of vintage record players, vinyl spins, and cassette tape ejections inspired the Interface’s swirling kinetic movements.

From Archives to Playlists - Share the Sound of Armstrong Beyond the Exhibit
To extend the journey beyond the museum, we integrated direct sharing capabilities with Spotify, allowing visitors to send curated playlists and favorite tracks directly to their own devices.

Designing for Accessibility -Bringing Satchmo Within Reach
To create a user-friendly experience on a four-sided tabletop, we strategically positioned interactive elements at the bottom of the screen—closer to the user—while larger, more legible items were placed at the top, ensuring visibility from any distance. This thoughtful spatial arrangement made navigating Armstrong’s legacy intuitive and engaging for all visitors.
